Dr. Michael Orosz grew up in Greeley, Colorado as the youngest of 7 boys. His mother was an RN and he developed an interest in the medical field at an early age. After lettering in football and track in high school, he decided to pursue a degree in Sports Medicine. He graduated with a BA in Kinesiology, emphasis in Athletic Training from the University of Northern Colorado in 1993.
After 2 years as a high school athletic trainer, he attended the College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery at Des Moines University, where he received a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree in 1999. Dr. Orosz then completed 3 years of residency in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery in St. Louis, MO. He has been in private practice since 2002, and relocated back to Iowa to be closer to family.
Dr. Orosz works in Cedar Rapids, IA and specializes in Podiatric Medicine and Foot & Ankle Surgery. Dr. Orosz is affiliated with Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids and St Luke's Hospital. He is board certified in Foot Surgery/Reconstructive Rearfoot & Ankle Surgery by the American Board of Foot & Ankle Surgery, a Fellow of the American College of Foot & Ankle Surgeons, a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association and a member of the Iowa Podiatric Medical Society. Dr. Orosz performs both outpatient and inpatient surgery and can conduct inpatient consultations on hospitalized patients at the request of the admitting physician.
He is married to Lisa and has 4 children; 2 boys and twin girls. When not caring for patients he is usually spending time with the family, volunteering at church, and getting outdoors!
